As some of my audience is aware, I am also a REALTOR®. Last summer, I hosted a round of brand mini sessions for the agents in my office. These agents went through my prep process for brand sessions, just on a smaller and faster scale. These sessions were designed specifically for REALTORS®, which means we're not just getting a plain ole headshot and calling it good. We're strategically creating images they can actually use, and I've seen most of the agents posting their images on socials, creating new print marketing, updating their websites, and various other things!
What We Captured
Each agent approached their session a little differently, which is exactly as it should be. Some kept it simple with clean, work-only vibes. Others leaned more into lifestyle branding, bringing more of their personal and casual life into the photos that allow their audience to get to know who they are behind the work.
You can see a mix of polished headshots, casual behind-the-brand photos, working shots with laptops, clients and paperwork, and personality-driven images that set each agent apart.
What to Wear
This is definitely the #1 question, and as you can see from the photos, there's just other one right answer. The goal is to look like a slightly elevated version of how you already show up everyday.
Some agents chose more traditional outfits, and others went more casual. Both directions work, because they matched each agent's personality and brand.
Here are some general guidelines:
- Stick to solids or very subtle patterns.
- Bring multiple outfit options, but prioritize you're favorites.
- Layers (jackets, cardigans, etc.) add variety without a full change.
- Most importantly, choose something you feel confident in.
Props...but Keep it Simple
You don't need a lot of props to get the point across.
Some agents brought:
- Laptops and cell phones
- Notebooks or planners
- Paperwork or branded printed items
- Coffee cups or simple lifestyle elements
The key is not to overdo it.
Do You Get Headshots Too?
Yes, always.
Even if you want more lifestyle images, we make sure to grab at least a few solid, professional headshots during your session. Those are still important, and you'll have options that feel both polished and current.
Why Brand Sessions Matter for Agents
Most agents are either catfishing their clients with a super outdated photo that they use for everything, or they avoid being in photos altogether. These sessions fix that. You walk away with a variety of images that actually support your business for various formats of marketing and setting yourself apart as an agent.
Keeping updated photos is one of those things that makes a bigger difference than you think. When you show up consistently in your marketing, people notice.
